The House and Grounds of Government House are open to the public on Australia Day each year. This is a unique opportunity to visit the private residence of the Governor and tour the extensive grounds and garden.
Explore one of Australia’s finest historic buildings, including the Governor’s apartments only open to the public on Open Day. Enjoy your own picnic in the gardens or purchase refreshments from community organisations. Visit retired champion racehorses in the 19th century stables and eat scones in the Old Kitchen. Relax to live music on the West Lawn and let your kids be entertained by a variety of activities.

Grounds open: 9.30 am - 4:30 pm.
House tours: 10.00 am - 4:00 pm (House tour queue closes at 3:00 pm).
Entry is free.
Please present bags to security for inspection prior to entrance.
Government House is an accessible environment.
