The Governor and Mr Howard hosted a garden party to mark the 150th anniversary of the Royal Children’s Hospital.
The Governor and Mr Howard hosted a garden party to recognise and acknowledge the enormous contribution of the Royal Children’s Hospital to the Victorian community over the last 150 years.
2020 marks the 150th anniversary of the Royal Children’s Hospital, and in celebrating this auspicious milestone, the Governor also thanked all who are involved in providing world-class care for all of the children - past and present - who have received treatment at the beloved Melbourne institution.
“It is hard to imagine any Victorians who have not been touched somehow - directly or indirectly - by the Royal Children’s Hospital, and all the dedicated people there who have helped to care either for us when we were children, or for our own or other youngsters amongst us” the Governor said.
“This 150 year history that we gather to celebrate today is the story of thousands of heroes: doctors and medical innovators, researchers, nurses, educators, administrators, supporters and volunteers”.
