The Governor and Mr Howard hosted the launch of the 25th Melbourne Fashion Festival at Government House Victoria.
Earlier this evening, the Governor and Mr Howard hosted the launch of the 25th Melbourne Fashion Festival, with a parade of fashion from Victorian designers, and a reception in the Ballroom at Government House Victoria.
The Melbourne Fashion Festival has, over its history, become a highlight on the Australian fashion calendar. Although this year’s event was much smaller than usual due to public health restrictions, the Governor and Mr Howard were nevertheless glad to be able to host this launch, to lend their support to the Melbourne fashion industry.
The runway parade featured 25 local designers, chosen to mark 25 years of the Melbourne Fashion Festival, with Ngali, Jason Grech and J’Aton among those featured on the runway.
Established in 1996 as an initiative of the State Government of Victoria in consultation with local fashion leaders, the Festival serves to build on Victoria’s reputation as a cultural, fashion and style capital. The Governor and Mr Howard, like former Governors and their spouses, have hosted an annual event at Government House in support of the Melbourne Fashion Festival.
