On Australia Day 2026, Government House Victoria invites you to join us for our annual January Open Day, returning with another diverse program of entertainment for all ages.
Guests will be able to explore the historic State Apartments with a self-guided tour of one of Victoria’s most iconic buildings.
Around the gardens, visitors will be able to enjoy live performances, free activities, and roving entertainment throughout the day.
You can pack a picnic to enjoy with views of the city skyline and Government House, or purchase from food vendors and community barbeques on-site.
Entry is free, with gates opening at 10:30am and closing at 3:30pm.

Earlier in the day, Government House will also host the Official Australia Day Flag-Raising Ceremony, an invite-only event that members of the public can view via livestream.
