The Governor of Victoria, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, gives support to organisations to recognise the contribution they make to Victoria. This is known as patronage.
The Governor is patron to more than 100 community groups in Victoria. She supports and promotes organisations involved in voluntary service, industry, education, the arts, sport, and caring for those in need.
There are many outstanding community organisations in Victoria, and it is not possible for the Governor to be patron of them all, no matter how deserving.
