On 19 July 2026, the Governor departed on an Official Visit to United States of America and Canada at the request of the Victorian Government.

The visit will see the Governor travel to cities including San Francisco, Denver, Toronto and New York to engage with Victoria’s partners in industries such as digital technology, renewable energy, and life sciences.

The Governor last visited the United States of America in June 2024. This latest visit will strengthen existing connections, build on recent engagement of visiting delegations to Victoria, as well as exploring new opportunities for collaboration in priority sectors.

The visit is also an opportunity to promote strengthening investment and visitor economy ties ahead of Victoria’s hosting of an NFL game later this year, the first time such a game will be played in the Asia Pacific region.

This will be the first visit of a Governor of Victoria to Canada since 2018, and will focus on fostering stronger ties in renewable energy, critical minerals, and First Peoples reform.

International engagement has been a successive key responsibility of Governors of Victoria, and one that requires overseas travel with the support of the Government.

The purpose of these official visits complements international engagement at home by strengthening relationships, opening doors for Victorian businesses, and promoting the State’s economic, social and cultural interests.

Details of the Governor’s program will be published as official engagements are completed.
