Official Australia Day Flag Raising Ceremony

On Monday 26 January, the Official Australia Day Flag Raising Ceremony will be hosted by the Governor of Victoria.

The ceremony features an inspection of the Australian Defence Force Tri-Service Royal Guard of Honour, the Australia Day Affirmation, and the singing of the Australian National Anthem, as well as speeches from the Governor and the Premier of Victoria.

This annual event is attended by the Premier and other dignitaries. Members of Victoria’s multicultural communities have also been invited to the ceremony to acknowledge their important contributions to the fabric of our State.

As attendance at the event is by invite only, members of the public can watch a livestream of the ceremony, commencing at 9:30am AEDT via the Australia Day Flag Raising webpage(opens in a new window).

Following the ceremony, Government House will open its gates from 10:30am for our annual January Open Day.(opens in a new window)
