The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, accompanied by Professor Glyn Davis AC, hosted a dinner on Artificial Intelligence and Data Centres opportunities for Victoria.

In the morning at Government House, members of the Ballarat U3A Garden Interest Group visited for a guided tour of the State Apartments and Kitchen Garden.

In the afternoon, members of the public visited for a guided twilight tour of the gardens.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Maragret Gardner AC, attended the 2026 Melbourne Food and Wine Festival World’s Longest Lunch, where she met with Tina Savona, Chair, Food and Drink Victoria.

In the morning at Government House, members of the public visited for a guided tour of the gardens.

Wednesday, 18 March

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, accompanied by Professor Glyn Davis AC, attended a reception hosted by Their Majesties, The King and The Queen of Denmark, at the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria.

Then, to mark the conclusion of their official visit to Government House, the Governor and Professor Davis farewelled Their Majesties The King and The Queen of Denmark.

Tuesday, 17 March

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Then, the Governor, accompanied by Professor Glyn Davis AC, received the call of His Majesty King Frederik X and Her Majesty Queen Mary of Denmark, before hosting a State Lunch in honour of Their Majesties’ visit to Victoria.

Following this, the Governor hosted a Victoria-Denmark business reception in the presence of Their Majesties The King and The Queen of Denmark, where she delivered an address to mark the occasion.

Monday, 16 March

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, received the virtual call of His Excellency David Vosen, Ambassador of Australia to Denmark.

In the evening, the Governor, and Professor Glyn Davis AC, officially welcomed to Victoria His Majesty King Frederik X and Her Majesty Queen Mary of Denmark.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, received the welcome call of Commander Dean Uren, Commanding Officer, HMAS Ballarat and Commander Helen Ward, Visiting Ship Liaison Officer, HMAS Cerberus.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, attended the opening night of the Australian Ballet and Bangarra Dance Theatre’s production of ‘Flora’.

Wednesday, 11 March

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, provided Royal Assent before presiding at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later, the Governor received the welcome call of Marie-Claire Hughes, Consul-General of Ireland, and Cian Flynn, Deputy Consul-General of Ireland.

Following this, the Governor received the welcome call of Her Honour Judge Liberty Sanger, State Coroner of Victoria.

In the morning, the Governor, was represented by Major General David McLachlan AO AO (Mil) (Ret’d) at a luncheon aboard the Overseas Patrol Vessel Auguste Bénébig hosted by Paule Ignatio, Consul General of France and Lieutenant David Sanad, Commanding Officer of FNS Auguste Bénébig.

In the morning at Government House, participants from two Community Hubs, St Dominic's School Broadmeadows and Mt Ridley College Craigieburn, visited for the Kitchen Garden Program.

Sunday, 8 March

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, attended the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Australian Grand Prix 2026, Albert Park Circuit, where she met with the Honourable Martin Pakula, Chairman, Australian Grand Prix Corporation, and was escorted to the Victorian Government Suite, before participating in the pre-race ceremony and observing the race.

Following this, the Governor was escorted to the Chairman’s Suite, where she met with Australian Grand Prix Corporation Board Members.

In the morning at Government House, members of the public visited for a guided tour of the State Apartments and Kitchen Garden.

Thursday, 5 March

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, visited the Victorian Space Science Education Centre before presenting staff with certificates to mark the occasion of their 20th Anniversary.

Following this, the Governor received the welcome call of Sunny Ahmed, Acting Consul General, British Consulate General Melbourne.

In the evening, the Governor, accompanied by Professor Glyn Davis AC, hosted the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Australian Grand Prix 2026 Welcome Reception where she gave a speech to mark the occasion.

Wednesday, 4 March

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, as Patron-in-Chief, hosted an afternoon tea to mark the 130th Anniversary of Kids First Australia, where she delivered an address to mark the occasion.

Later, the Governor hosted a screening of ‘Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision’ with The King’s Foundation Australia, where she delivered an address to mark the film’s release in Australia.

Tuesday, 3 March

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Following this, the Governor received the call of Iain Grandage AM, Director of Programming, Melbourne Recital Centre.

The Governor, in the lead up to International Women’s Day, as Patron-in-Chief of the National Council of Women Victoria, hosted a NCWV panel discussion on women’s health.
