While on an official visit to China, the Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, represented Victoria at the China Annual Conference and Expo for International Education, where she gave a keynote address at the plenary session.
In the afternoon, the Governor visited the Victorian Government Trade and Investment Office in Beijing, where she met with staff and received an in-country briefing.
In the morning at Government House, members from Meadows Gardening Group visited for a guided tour of the State Apartments.

While on an official visit to China, the Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, made a visit to the Palace Museum, where she met with Dr Wang Xudong, Director, Palace Museum and Chiu Yung, Chairman, Hong Kong Fu Wah Group, before touring the museum.
Following this, the Governor attended a luncheon in her honour hosted by His Excellency Mr Scott Dewar, Ambassador for Australia to China, at the Ambassador’s Residence at the Australian Embassy in Beijing.
In the afternoon, the Governor attended a ‘Friends of Victoria’ event in Beijing, hosted by Victoria’s Commissioner to Greater China, Brett Stevens, where she gave a speech to an audience of business stakeholders, alumni, and members of the Australian and Victorian community in Beijing.

While on an official visit to China, the Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, received a briefing from Meaghan Shaw, Australian Consul-General in Chengdu.
Later, the Governor visited the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and the Dujiangyan Field Research Center for Giant Pandas, a key institution in Victoria’s sister-state of Sichuan.
In the evening, the Governor concluded her official visit to Sichuan Province and departed Chengdu for Beijing.
In the morning at Government House, participants from City of Frankston 2024 Senior Festival's 'Friends at First Sight' initiative visited for the Kitchen Garden Program.

While on an official visit to China, the Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, received a briefing from Brett Stevens, Commissioner for Victoria to Greater China.
Following this, the Governor visited the Sichuan International Tennis Centre where she met with officials and players for the Australian Open Asia-Pacific Wildcard Play-off.
In the afternoon, the Governor made a visit to Qinci Games Studios, where she toured the studios and received a briefing on the company’s expansion into Victoria.
Later, the Governor was received by Madame Tian Xiangli, Chairperson, Sichuan Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
In the evening, the Governor attended a dinner in her honour hosted by Madame Tian and senior representatives of the Sichuan Provincial Government.
In the morning at Government House, members of the public visited for a guided tour of the State Apartments with the National Trust.

While on an official visit to Japan, the Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, made a visit to Seikado Bunko Art Museum, where she met with Yasuyuki Sugiura, Museum Managing Director, before touring the museum.

While on an official visit to Japan, the Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, met with Mr Masaharu Shinkai, Vice-Chairperson, Aichi Prefectural Assembly.
Following this, the Governor visited Nagoya Castle, an officially designated National Historic Site.
In the afternoon, the Governor visited the Toyota Technological Institute, where she met with Dr Yoshihiko Masuda, Chairman of the Board, Toyota School Foundation and Professor Kazuo Hotate, President, Toyota Technological Institute. Following the meeting, the Governor toured the laboratories and teaching facilities before meeting with staff and students.
Later, the Governor met with His Excellency Mr Hideaki Ohmura, Governor of Aichi Prefecture.
In the evening, the Governor attended a dinner hosted by the Governor of Aichi in honour of her official visit to Japan.

While on an official visit to Japan, the Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, attended the 61st Annual Australia-Japan Joint Business Conference Opening Ceremony.
Following this, the Governor made a visit to the recently opened startup incubator, STATION Ai, where she toured the new facilities, and received a briefing from STATION Ai representatives on this new initiative which will support more than 500 companies.
Later, the Governor met with His Excellency Mr Kazuhiro Suzuki, Ambassador of Japan to Australia, Mr Junji Shimada, Consul-General of Japan to Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia, and Mr Tokuro Furuya, incoming Consul-General of Japan to Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
In the afternoon, the Governor met with Peter Grey, President, and Richard Andrews, CEO, Australia-Japan Business Cooperation Committee, before receiving a briefing from His Excellency Mr Justin Hayhurst, Australian Ambassador to Japan.
In the evening, the Governor attended the 61st Annual Australia-Japan Joint Business Conference official dinner.
In Victoria, the Lieutenant-Governor, Professor James Angus AO, hosted the 2024 Victorian Senior of the Year Awards, where he gave an address and presented recipients with their awards.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardener AC and Professor Glyn Davis AC met with His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla on their Royal Visit to Australia at Parliament House Canberra.
Then, the Governor and Professor Glyn Davis AC attended a Parliamentary Reception in honour of Their Majesties, hosted by the Honourable Anthony Albanese MP, Prime Minister of Australia and Ms Jodie Haydon, in the Great Hall, Parliament House Canberra.
In the evening, the Governor departed Canberra, returning to Melbourne.

In the afternoon, the Governor received the call of Professor Diane Kirkby, Emeritus Professor of Archaeology, La Trobe University.
In the evening, the Governor received the call of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Archbishop of Constantinople and New Rome, and His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Church of Australia.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, visited the Krueger Transport Equipment offices in Derrimut and Truganina, where she received a briefing from Kevin Dennis, CEO. Following the briefing the Governor toured the Krueger Centre of Excellence and manufacturing facility where she met with employees. Then, the Governor was hosted at a morning tea where she met with John Krueger, Founding Owner, Krueger Transport Equipment and the Executive Leadership Team.
Later, the Governor received the welcome call of His Excellency Mr Andrew Needs, High Commissioner for New Zealand, and Bella Katz, Consul-General and Trade Commissioner of New Zealand.
In the afternoon, the Governor received the call of Lynda McAlary-Smith, Victorian Small Business Commissioner.
In the evening, the Governor, as Patron, hosted a reception for the 150th Anniversary of the Royal Humane Society, where she gave an address to mark the occasion.

Later, the Governor visited the State Library Victoria where she met with Christine Christian AO, President, and Paul Duldig, CEO. The Governor toured the Searching for Sanctuary, World of Book and Melbourne Out Loud exhibitions, and visited the Redmond Barry Reading Room and Herald Weekly Times Newspaper Room. The Governor also met with State Library Victoria conservationists, curators and staff.
In the afternoon, the Governor hosted an afternoon tea for the Victorian recipients and alumni of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Australia Awards, where she gave an address to congratulate the 2024 scholars on the completion of their studies.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, visited the Ravenhall Correctional Centre and received a briefing from Col Caskie, General Manager. Following the briefing, the Governor toured the facility, accompanied by Larissa Strong ACM, Commissioner Corrections Victoria, and Dr Lindsay McMillan, Chair and Carolyn Morris, CEO, YMCA Victoria.
During the tour the Governor visited the Library and the Kulin Yulendj Aboriginal Cultural Centre. The Governor also visited and received a briefing on the ReBuild Workshop and sport and recreational programs run by the YMCA’s ‘Bridge Project’.

Following the briefing the Governor toured the Melbourne Hebrew Congregation and the Herscu Shule.
In the evening, the Governor hosted a reception to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Victorian Heritage Register, where she gave an address to mark the occasion.
