The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, hosted a morning tea to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Australian Nurses’ Memorial Centre, where she delivered an address to mark the occasion.

In the afternoon, the Governor received the call of Eric Woerth, Chair, Parliamentary Friends of Australia at the French National Assembly and Member for Oise, Emmanuel Fouquart, Member for Bouches-du-Rhône, Mereana Reid Arbelot, Member for French Polynesia, Anne Genetet, Member for French living in Asia, Oceania and Eastern Europe, Pascale Got, Member for Gironde, Paule Ignatio, Consul-General of France and Alizée Trillo, Administrator, French National Assembly.

In the evening, the Governor, accompanied by Professor Glyn Davis AC, attended the opening night of Opera Australia’s production of ‘The Barber of Seville’, where they met with Simon Militano, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Opera Australia, and Rebecca Kitelinger, Development Director, Opera Australia.

In the morning at Government House, members of the public visited for a guided tour of the State Apartments and Kitchen Garden.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, accompanied by Professor Glyn Davis AC, hosted a morning tea to mark the 15th Anniversary of the Wheeler Centre, where the Governor delivered an address to mark the occasion.

In the afternoon, the Governor and Professor Davis visited the ‘Reimagining Project’ at the Arts Centre Melbourne, where they met with Tammy Willenberg, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Arts Centre Melbourne, before being escorted on a tour of the site and receiving a briefing on the current works.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, visited Mount Macedon where she met with Jennifer Mann, Sculptor, and Stephen Ryan, President, Mount Macedon and District Horticultural Society, and received a briefing on the Ellis Rowan Project.

Then, the Governor was escorted on a tour of Viewfield Garden by Vicki Hawken.

Following this, the Governor visited Derriweit Heights where she met with Annie and Paul Mulkearns before meeting with members of the community involved with the Ellis Rowan Project.

In the afternoon, the Governor received the call of Reverend Andrew Nixon, Director of Veterans' Chaplaincy, Department of Veterans' Affairs.

Then, the Governor received the call of Nik Muhammad Nasyron Syah Nik Daud, Consul-General of Malaysia in Melbourne

In the evening, the Governor hosted a reception to mark the commencement of the 2025 Asia Pacific Coroners Society Conference in Melbourne.

In the morning at Government House, participants from Vermont South Special School attended for the Scarecrow Program.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Then, the Governor, as Patron, officially reopened the Lord Somers Camp and Power House and gave an address to mark the occasion.

In the afternoon, the Governor received the call of Her Excellency Ingrid Dahl-Madsen, Danish Ambassador to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji and Lawrence McIntosh, Senior Renewable Energy Adviser, Royal Danish Embassy Canberra.

Following this, the Governor received the call of Professor Nathalie Nguyen, Professor of History, Monash University.

Later, the Governor hosted a reception to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Musica Viva, where she delivered an address to mark the occasion.

In the evening, the Governor hosted a dinner in honour of Her Excellency Ingrid Dahl-Madsen, Danish Ambassador to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

In the morning at Government House, participants from Friends at First Sight visited for the Kitchen Garden Program.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, received the farewell call of Conrad Tribble, Consul-General of the United States of America, and Jordana Cox, Consular Chief, U.S. Consulate General Melbourne.

In the evening, the Governor, accompanied by Professor Glyn Davis AC, attended the Melbourne Club Members and Daughters Dinner, where the Governor delivered an address.

In the morning, Squadron Leader Dan Kehoe represented the Governor at the Police Memorial Service for Michael Kenneth Pratt GC at the Victoria Police Academy.

At Government House, members of U3A Ivanhoe visited for a guided tour of the State Apartments and Kitchen Garden.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, was escorted on a tour of the Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute by Paula Nicholson, President of the Board and Acting Executive Manager, and Ellen Becker, Heritage Collections Curator, Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute, before attending a morning tea with staff and volunteers.

In the afternoon, the Governor received the welcome call of Yohannes Jatmiko Heru Prasetyo, Consul-General of Indonesia, and Hanung Nugraha Sulistyanto, Consul.

Later, the Governor hosted a reception to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Bowness Photography Prize, where she delivered an address to mark the occasion.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, hosted the 2025 Senior of the Year Awards, where she gave an address and presented recipients with their awards.

In the evening, the Governor, in her capacity as University Visitor, presided over the installation of Dr Philip Freier as 7th Chancellor of Federation University, Ballarat, where she delivered an address to mark the occasion.

Then, the Governor, as Patron, visited The Embroiderers Guild Victoria, where she met with Dr Denise Bell, State President, The Embroiderers Guild Victoria, before being escorted on a tour of the “Magical” exhibition.

In the afternoon, the Governor welcomed Kitchen Garden Program participants from Friends at First Sight to Government House.

While on a Regional Visit to the City of Greater Bendigo, the Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, visited Thales, where she met with Jeff Connolly, CEO, Thales, before being escorted on a tour of the site.

Following this, the Governor visited Australian Defence Apparel, where she met with Mitch Edward, General Manager, Australian Defence Apparel, before receiving a briefing and being escorted through the factory.

Then, the Governor visited the Capital Theatre, where she met with Debra Allanson, CEO, Arena Theatre Company, before touring the theatre and attending a roundtable discussion with members of the City of Greater Bendigo Arts and Creative Industries Committee.

In the afternoon, concluding the Regional Visit to the City of Greater Bendigo, the Governor visited Peppergreen Farm, where she met with Matt Lambelle, CEO, WISE Employment, and Daniel Robinson, General Manager, Peppergreen Farm, before being escorted on a tour of the cafe and garden, and meeting with staff and volunteers.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, commenced a Regional Visit to the City of Greater Bendigo, where she met with Councillor Andrea Metcalf, Mayor, and Andrew Cooney, CEO, Greater Bendigo City Council, before receiving a briefing from Councillors and Council staff.

Following this, the Governor visited Vossloh, where she met with Boris Rozentoul, General Manager, Vossloh, before receiving a briefing from the management team and touring the facility.

In the afternoon, the Governor visited the Clinical Teaching Building at the La Trobe Rural Health School, where she met with Professor Theo Farrell, Vice Chancellor, and Melanie Bish, Pro Vice-Chancellor, La Trobe University, before receiving a briefing, touring the building and meeting with students.

Then, the Governor visited the Golden Dragon Museum, where she met with Doug Lougoon, Chair, and Hugo Leshcen, CEO, Golden Dragon Museum, before observing a Lion Dance and touring the museum.

Later, the Governor visited Bendigo Art Gallery, where she met with Jessica Bridgfoot, Director, Bendigo Art Gallery, before receiving a briefing on the Gallery’s redevelopment and being escorted on a tour of the Gallery.

In the evening, the Governor attended a Civic Reception hosted by the City of Greater Bendigo, where she delivered an address to mark the occasion before observing, as Patron, a performance from the Bendigo Youth Choir.
