There are no words to describe the scenes and stories emerging from the Nepal-China border this week.

Victorians know the terror and devastation caused by natural disasters – yet the scale of this tragedy is unimaginable.

It is distressing for those with friends and family unaccounted for.

Right now, there will be many in our State experiencing that weight of uncertainty, and with a deep grief being felt acutely by communities directly affected.

It may take time for the full extent of loss to become clear, and much longer still to recover from the destruction.

Our thoughts are with all Victorians touched by this tragedy and with the people of Nepal and China throughout this difficult time.
