The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, signed the Letters Patent for the Royal Commission into the Integrity of Major Public and Civil Infrastructure Construction Projects in Victoria.
Following this, the Governor received the farewell call of Tokuro Furuya, Consul-General and Natsuko Miguchi, Deputy Consul-General of Japan in Melbourne.
In the afternoon, the Governor hosted the eighth session of the Understanding Victoria Discussion Series, Government House Victoria, 150 Years: Shaping the Finest House.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, attended the official opening ceremony of the 2026 Australasian Fire and Emergency Services Conference (AFAC) where she met with Rob Webb, Chief Executive Officer, AFAC, and Darren Klemm AFSM, President, AFAC, before delivering an address to mark the occasion.
The Governor hosted the Royal Humane Society of Australasia bravery awards, where she presented recipients with their medals and delivered an address to mark the occasion.
Later, the Governor received the farewell call of Major General Jason Blain DSC AM CSC, Senior Army Officer of Victoria and Head of Land Systems Division, Capability Acquisition & Sustainment Group, Department of Defence.
In the morning at Government House, participants from Broadmeadows Special Developmental School attended for the Scarecrow Program.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, provided Royal Assent before presiding at a meeting of the Executive Council.
Following this, the Governor attended the Vietnam Veterans Day commemorative service to mark the 60th anniversary of the Battle of the Long Tan at the Shrine of Remembrance. The Governor met with Bob Elworthy AM, Victorian State President, Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia, and Colonel Catherine Carrigan, Deputy Chair, Shrine of Remembrance, before delivering an address and laying a wreath on behalf of all Victorians.
In the afternoon, the Governor received the welcome call of Marie Vassalo, State President, and Lynne Jordan, Executive Director, Country Women’s Association of Victoria.
Later, the Governor, as Visitor of Monash University, attended the “Against the Odds, the history of the Monash University Rowing Club” book launch where she delivered an address to mark the occasion.
In the morning at Government House, participants from Geelong Community Hubs visited for the Kitchen Garden Program.
In the afternoon, students from Gladstone Park Secondary College visited for a guided tour of the State Apartments and Kitchen Garden.

Continuing a Regional Visit of the City of Wodonga, the Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, gave an interview with ABC Goulburn Murray.
Following this, the Governor visited Army Museum Bandiana, where she met with Major Wendi McAdie, Manager, and Neil Daley, Senior Curator, Australian Army, before being escorted on a tour of the museum and meeting with staff and volunteers.
Then, the Governor visited Bonegilla Migrant Experience, where she met with Karen Walls-Smythe, Team Leader, before receiving a briefing on the history of the site and being escorted on a tour of the remaining buildings.
Later, the Governor visited the Wodonga Resource Recovery Hub, where she met with Jo Murdoch, Managing Director, North East Water, before receiving a briefing on the development and being escorted on a tour of the site.
Concluding a Regional Visit to the City of Wodonga, the Governor visited the Burraja Cultural Centre, where she met with Maleah Curtain Marlowe, Senior Program Manager, and Frank Osinger, Team Leader – Community Development, Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency, before being welcomed with a smoking ceremony and receiving a briefing on programs and services.

Commencing a Regional Visit of the City of Wodonga, the Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, met with Councillor Michael Gobel, Mayor, and Matthew Hyde, CEO, City of Wodonga Council, before receiving a briefing.
Following this, the Governor visited Mars Petcare, where she met with Melodie Bye, Managing Director and General Manager, Mars Pet Nutrition Australia, before receiving a briefing and being escorted on a tour of the recently opened pouch production facility.
Then, the Governor visited Albury Wodonga Foodshare, where she met with Katrina Pawley, CEO, before touring the warehouse and community pantry and meeting with staff and volunteers.
In the afternoon, the Governor visited Wodonga TAFE Logic Campus, where she met with Phil Paterson, CEO, Northern Victorian Institute of TAFE, before receiving a briefing and being escorted on a tour of the soon-to-be-opened redevelopment of the campus.
Later, the Governor visited RE4ORM Recycling, where she met with Trent Cummings, Founder and Director, before being escorted on a tour of the synthetic sports turf recycling facility.
Next, the Governor visited Opal Fibre Packaging, where she met with Brad Hinds, Chief Executive – Packaging, before receiving a briefing and being escorted on a tour of the production facility.
In the evening, the Governor attended a Civic Reception hosted by City of Wodonga Council, where she delivered an address to mark the occasion.
Wednesday, 12 August
Continuing a Regional Visit of Indigo Shire, the Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, visited Beechworth Correctional Centre, where she was met with Melissa Westin ACM, Deputy Commissioner for Custodial Operations, Corrections Victoria, before receiving a briefing on operations, touring the facilities, and meeting with staff and inmates.
Following this, the Governor visited the Old Beechworth Gaol, where she met with Gina Bladon, General Manager, Old Beechworth Gaol, Ben McGowan, Managing Director, Indigo Power, and Matt Pfahlert, CEO, Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship, before receiving a briefing and being escorted on a tour of the Gaol and the Indigo Power community battery installed at the site.
In the afternoon, the Governor visited the Rutherglen Research Centre, where she met with Colette Sutter, Site Leader, before receiving a briefing on the site’s history and its ongoing operations.
Then, the Governor visited Morris of Rutherglen, where she met with John Casella, Managing Director, Casella Family Brands, before being escorted on a tour of the winery and distillery and participating in a tasting at the cellar door.
Concluding a Regional Visit of Indigo Shire, the Governor visited Lake Moodemere Estate, where she met with Michael and Belinda Chambers, Founders, before being escorted on a tour of the winery and participating in a tasting at the restaurant.

Tuesday, 11 August
The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
Following this, the Governor commenced a Regional Visit of Indigo Shire as she visited Bridge Road Brewers, where she met with Ben Kraus, Founder and Owner, before being escorted on a tour of the brewery.
Then, the Governor met with Councillor Jane Dowsley, Deputy Mayor, Indigo Shire Council, before receiving a briefing from Councillors and Council staff.
Later, the Governor visited Beechworth Honey, where she met with Jodie Goldsworthy AM, Director and Co-Founder, before receiving a briefing on operations and education initiatives.
