The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, received the call of Professor Nathan Grills, Honorary Secretary Victoria and Albany Flanagan, State Administrator, Victorian Rhodes Scholarship Committee.
Then, the Governor chaired the Victorian Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee interviews and meeting to select the 2027 Victorian Rhodes Scholar.
Later, the Governor hosted a reception for the 2027 Victorian Rhodes Scholarship finalists and their families.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
In the afternoon, the Governor received the call of the Honourable Ben Carroll, Premier of Victoria.
Later, the Governor, accompanied by Professor Glyn Davis AC, hosted a dinner in honour of the visit of Mr Jiade Zhu, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee, Sichuan Provincial People’s Congress and his delegation, to mark the 10th anniversary of the Victoria and Sichuan sister-state relationship.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, attended the ACETIE 2026 Main Forum where she met with the Honourable Bruce Atkinson AM, Acting Chair, ACETIE Organising Committee, before delivering a keynote address.
In the afternoon, the Governor received the welcome call of Jun Imanishi, Consul-General of Japan, and Natsuko Miguchi, Deputy Consul-General of Japan in Melbourne.
Following this, the Governor received the call of Chris Barrett, Secretary, Department of Premier and Cabinet.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, as Patron of Navy League of Australia (Victoria Tasmania Division), hosted a morning tea to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Navy League of Australia, where she delivered a speech to mark the occasion.
Following this, the Governor received the welcome call of Major General (Retd) Andrew Bottrell AO, CSC & Bar, DSM, Chair, and Kerryn Ellis, Chief Executive Officer, Shrine of Remembrance.
In the evening, the Governor attended the 2026 Governor of Victoria Export Awards, where she delivered an address and presented recipients with their awards.
Wednesday, 2 September
The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, commenced a visit to Melton City where she met with Councillor Lara Carli, Mayor, and Roslyn Wai, CEO, Melton City Council, before receiving a briefing from Councillors and Council staff.
Following this, the Governor was escorted on a tour of the Melton Suburban University Study Hub and met with Trish Heffernan, CEO, Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services and Shiv Shandil, Program Manager, Melton Suburban University Study Hub, before receiving a briefing.
Then, the Governor visited the Cobblebank Community Hub project site, where she met with Levi Phipps, Head of Major Project Delivery, before receiving a tour of the site.
In the afternoon, the Governor visited ABMT Textiles, where she met with Julian Collins, Group Commercial Manager, before receiving a briefing on operations and being escorted on a of the facilities.
Concluding a visit to Melton City, the Governor visited Swisse Wellness, where she met with David Donnoli, Director of Operations ANZ, before receiving a briefing and being escorted on a tour of the Swisse Wellness logistics hub located in the Horizon 3023 precinct.
Later, the Governor hosted a roundtable afternoon tea for Victorian Government Trade and Investment Office Heads of Post.
Tuesday, 1 September
The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, provided Royal Assent before presiding at a meeting of the Executive Council.
Following this, the Governor hosted a ‘Games on the Green’ cricket event for the LBW Trust, Cricket Victoria and Cricket Australia, where she delivered an address to welcome school students to Government House.
Then, the Governor, as Patron, attended the National Gallery of Victoria Women’s Association Spring Lunch at the National Gallery of Victoria, where she was met by Kallie Blauhorn, President, National Gallery of Victoria Women’s Association.
In the evening, the Governor and Professor Glyn Davis AC, hosted a dinner on the occasion of the visit of Nadine Williams, National Armaments Director and Head of Defence Delivery Group, Commonwealth Department of Defence.
