The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, commenced a visit to Melton City where she met with Councillor Lara Carli, Mayor, and Roslyn Wai, CEO, Melton City Council, before receiving a briefing from Councillors and Council staff.
Following this, the Governor was escorted on a tour of the Melton Suburban University Study Hub and met with Trish Heffernan, CEO, Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services and Shiv Shandil, Program Manager, Melton Suburban University Study Hub, before receiving a briefing.
Then, the Governor visited the Cobblebank Community Hub project site, where she met with Levi Phipps, Head of Major Project Delivery, before receiving a tour of the site.
In the afternoon, the Governor visited ABMT Textiles, where she met with Julian Collins, Group Commercial Manager, before receiving a briefing on operations and being escorted on a of the facilities.
Concluding a visit to Melton City, the Governor visited Swisse Wellness, where she met with David Donnoli, Director of Operations ANZ, before receiving a briefing and being escorted on a tour of the Swisse Wellness logistics hub located in the Horizon 3023 precinct.
Later, the Governor hosted a roundtable afternoon tea for Victorian Government Trade and Investment Office Heads of Post.
Tuesday, 1 September
The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, provided Royal Assent before presiding at a meeting of the Executive Council.
Following this, the Governor hosted a ‘Games on the Green’ cricket event for the LBW Trust, Cricket Victoria and Cricket Australia, where she delivered an address to welcome school students to Government House.
Then, the Governor, as Patron, attended the National Gallery of Victoria Women’s Association Spring Lunch at the National Gallery of Victoria, where she was met by Kallie Blauhorn, President, National Gallery of Victoria Women’s Association.
In the evening, the Governor and Professor Glyn Davis AC, hosted a dinner on the occasion of the visit of Nadine Williams, National Armaments Director and Head of Defence Delivery Group, Commonwealth Department of Defence.
In the morning at Government House, participants from Geelong Community Hubs visited for the Kitchen Garden Program.
