The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, received Professor Alan Mackay-Sim, 2017 Australian of the Year, and then Ms Jan Adams AO, PSM Australia's Ambassador to the People's Republic of China, before hosting a lunch for Ambassador Adams.
The Governor received Sir Angus Houston AK AFC (Ret'd), Chair, Australian Cancer Research Foundation and later hosted a reception for the 25th anniversary of Carers Victoria.

Philip Dalidakis MP, appointed as Minister for Trade and Investment, Minister for Innovation and the Digital Economy and Minister for Small Business, the Hon. Jenny Mikakos MP, appointed as Minister for Early Childhood Education and the Hon. Tim Pallas MP, appointed as Minister for Resources.
The Governor then hosted the 2017 Governor's Export Awards.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard QC, received the call of His Excellency, Mr Michael D. Higgins, President of Ireland, and Mrs Sabina Higgins, before hosting a State Luncheon in their honour.
The Governor and Mr Howard then hosted the 2017 St John Ambulance Parade and Awards.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, attended the Sport Australia Hall of Fame 33rd Induction and Awards Gala Dinner.
Mr Anthony Howard QC hosted a tour of the State Apartment for students from Victoria University Secondary School.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard QC attended the Breast Cancer Network Australia Pink Lady Lunch, before the Governor, accompanied by Mr Howard, opened the Melton Botanic Gardens.
The Governor and Mr Howard then attended the official portrait unveiling of His Honour Michael Rozenes AO, QC.
Squadron Leader Leonie Auld represented the Governor at the arrival of HE The President of Ireland and Mrs Higgins.
Mr Howard hosted a reception at Government House for the 40th Anniversary of Mind Australia.

The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC then hosted the Victorian Senior of the Year Awards before the Governor, accompanied by Mr Howard, delivered the October Lecture, as part of the Dean's Lecture Series, at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard QC, presided over the Swearing-In of the Honourable Anne Ferguson, as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria, and then hosted a dinner in her honour.
Mr Howard conducted a tour of the State Apartments for members of U3A Nunawading Network.
