Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, & Mr Anthony Howard QC, attended the 2017 Brownlow Medal Vote Count and dinner. Mr Howard hosted a tour of Government House for National Trust of Victoria volunteers.
On Saturday, the Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard QC, opened the 2017 Royal Melbourne Show. Later, they attended the farewell dinner for the Honourable Chief Justice Marilyn Warren AC.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, & Mr Anthony Howard QC, farewelled His Royal Highness the Duke of York KG, before hosting a reception to mark the Lions Club International Centenary, and then hosted a reception to mark the Centenary of the Grain Industry Association of Victoria.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, & Mr Anthony Howard QC, in the presence of HRH The Duke of York, hosted Pitch@Palace On Tour Melbourne, followed by a reception. The Governor & Mr Howard hosted a dinner in honour of HRH The Duke of York.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council then, with Mr Anthony Howard QC, hosted a citizenship conferring ceremony to mark Australian Citizenship Day. The Governor received HRH the Duke of York and then the call of the Hon. Gladys KT Kokorwe, Speaker of the National Assembly of Botswana.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, received Ms Jill Reichstein OAM, Chair, Reichstein Foundation and then the call of Her Excellency, Ms Beryl Rose Sisulu, High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa. Mr Anthony Howard QC, conducted a tour of the State Apartments for the Beacon Foundation.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, spoke at the John Monash Science School in Clayton, before receiving the call of Rabbi Yaakov Glasman, President of the Rabbinical Council of Australia and New Zealand.
The Governor & Mr Anthony Howard QC then hosted a dinner in honour of the Hon. Chief Justice, Marilyn Warren AC, and Mr Mick Heeley.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard QC, attended the Commissioning of the Bourke Street Memorial Collection at the State Library of Victoria.
The Governor, as Patron, then hosted a reception to mark the Centenary of Mission to Seafarers Victoria.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard QC toured the Bombardier Transportation Australia manufacturing facility in Dandenong South.
The Governor then swore in the Hon. Natalie Hutchins as Minster for Women and Minister for Prevention of Family Violence, and the Hon. Marlene Kairouz as Minister for Local Government.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council then, with Mr Anthony Howard QC, hosted a reception for the National Youth Science Forum.
The Governor toured the Advanced Manufacturing and Design Centre at Swinburne University Hawthorn Campus, before the Governor and Mr Howard attended the premier of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by the Australian Ballet Company.
