Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
The Governor met with the Hon. Martin Pakula MP, Attorney General. Mr Anthony Howard QC led a tour of the State Apartments for legal studies students from Essendon Keilor College.
The Governor received Mr John Cain, former Premier of Victoria and then received Ms Lyn Harris, State President and Ms Lynne Jordan, Executive Director, CWA, Victoria. The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC hosted a luncheon with Dr Mary Jean Gallagher, education expert.
The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC visited the Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater at the Yellingbo Conservation Nature Reserve. Later, the Governor received the call of Mr James Button.
The Governor and Judge Howard toured the 2016 Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition Degas: A New Vision, at the National Galley of Victoria.
The Governor presided at a meeting of Executive Council and later received the call of His Excellency Mr Yogesh Punja, High Commissioner of Fiji and then received the call of Her Excellency Mrs Erica Schouten, Ambassador of the Netherlands. The Governor hosted a lunch for Mrs Lyn Swinburne, AM Chair, Royal Melbourne Hospital Board and Ms Terry Bracks AM, Chair, Western Chances. Later, the Governor received the call of Ms Lisa Renkin, Deputy Commissioner for Greater China, and with Mr Anthony Howard QC, hosted a dinner for Mr Luo Qiang, Mayor of City of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China.
The Governor met with the Premier, the Hon Daniel Andrews MP. Mr Anthony Howard QC led a tour of the State Apartments for Peace and Prosperity Garden Term 2 participants and later, joined by the Governor, farewelled them.
The Governor, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard QC, presented awards at the Club Melbourne Ambassadors 12th Anniversary Dinner.
The Governor received Mr Quin Scalzo and Ms Mary Barry, Rotary Club of Melbourne, and then Ms Claire Dobbin, Chair, Melbourne International Film Festival. In the evening, the Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC hosted an IFTAR Dinner and later, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Howard unveiled a photographic portrait of Professor Glyn Davis AC and Professor Margaret Gardner AO.
The Governor received Mr Terry Moran AC, Chair, Melbourne Theatre Company followed by the call of Mr Bede Jones, Rhodes Scholar for Tasmania. The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC, hosted panellists for the Peace & Prosperity Garden Student Design Project. In the evening they received HE Mr Kwok Fook Seng, High Commissioner for Singapore and Madame Pearl Lee and hosted a dinner in their honour.
The Governor received the call of Mr Chris Eccles AO, Secretary, Department of Premier and Cabinet. In the afternoon the Governor, as Patron of Zoos Victoria, and Mr Anthony Howard QC visited the Werribee Open Range Zoo and later, the Governor was interviewed by ABC Evening Show host, Lindy Burns. In the evening, the Governor and Mr Howard hosted a dinner for members of Victoria's food and wine and design industries
