The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, provided Royal Assent before presiding at a meeting of the Executive Council.
Then, the Governor visited the Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct, where she met with Andrea Davidson, Acting Deputy Secretary, Youth Justice, Department of Justice and Community Safety, and other senior officials.
Following a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, the Governor received a briefing on the operations of the Precinct and met with representatives of the Precinct’s service providers.
Then, the Governor was escorted on a tour of the Precinct, where she visited a residential unit, the garden, the kitchen and the visitor’s centre.
Later, Sally Leake, Honorary Aide, representing the Governor, attended the State Funeral Service for the Honourable John Edward Delzoppo OAM at St John Cooperating Church in Neerim South.
In the afternoon, the Governor, as Patron of Australia China Business Council Victoria, hosted the ‘Women Leaders – Driving Business with China’ Forum with the Australia China Business Council Victoria and Global Victoria Women, where she gave an address to open the Forum.
In the morning at Government House, participants from the McAuley Community Services for Women visited for the Kitchen Garden Program.
